I have been working on various aspects of my communication skills for years now. Being a member of toastmasters and joining another speaking meetup (Empowerment Speaking Group) has helped a lot.  I have learned the importance of verbal, nonverbal, written,  and visual  communication.  I understand that listening and observing are important components of communication.

The forms of communication that I’ve been improving upon are face-to-face, video, audio and text based.

Some ways that I have worked on these skills

• As President of GTCC Honor Society 2015-2016 – I conducted weekly meeting with officers and held several subject related seminars.
• Writing blog posts, self publishing books, content for websites, ebooks and more
• Recording CD’s about trucking, life change, parenting, overcoming obstacles, etc.
• Recording and publishing videos about life change, trucking, relationships, parenting, youth empowerment, self reliability, etc.
• Preparing and recording a presentation on DVD about goal setting and life planning
• Preparing and recording a DVD about Trucker Success
• Interviewing people (some recorded and some not)
• Face to Face sales (From time to time to promote, and more importantly improve my skills, I go into barbershops and explain what I have and how it benefits them should they decide to buy)
